STRESS | TRAUMA
in combination with

MINDSETS | BELIEFS | BEHAVIORS
leads to
HEALTH CHALLENGES

Two key variables, rooted in all health challenges, that impact our wellbeing:
STRESS : pressure & tension from daily activities, events, interactions.
TRAUMA : life experiences that compromised our sense of safety, challenged our  survival, and conditioned our behavior for self-preservation.

Three human aspects that also contribute to all health challenges:

MINDSETS : product of mental activity; a set of attitudes and assumptions that people have about themselves and the world.
BELIEFS : an idea accepted as true or real, regardless of truth.
BEHAVIORS : range of actions and mannerisms; it is how someone acts, what a person does to make something happen, to make something change, or to keep things the same; a response to things that are happening internally, such as thoughts and feelings, and externally, such as the environment, including other people.

A message for the Individual

Modern day wellness approach has divided Health into several aspects (i.e. mental, emotional, physical, social, spiritual, environmental), isolating and treating each separately.

However, they're all doorways to the same, overall Health. This understanding shifts the manner in which we can approach wellness & wellbeing, from one of a siloed method to a comprehensive & integrated process.

What Page 3rd Icon.png

People seek exercise support from a fitness trainer at a gym to achieve a body-image or performance goal without understanding 'how they process their emotions' has an equal say in whether that goal is attained.

What Page 4th Icon.png

Or people will seek emotional or psychological healing through a therapist without realizing the 'state of their nutrition' is just as important as the time, money & effort spent in therapy sessions.

What Page 5th Icon.png

Or people will pursue a prescriptive diet to improve their weight management without realizing that if they don't mindfully address toxic relationships or work stress, any potential progress will be limited.

Or people approach career choices solely based on income potential or ego-driven aspirations.  Finding your true purpose in life, finding a career that is fulfilling, often springs from a process of self-discovery nurtured by a spiritual practice.

The nature of a traditional siloed health approach creates
blindspots towards improving one’s health.

Recognizing the connectivity of all health aspects
(i.e. mental, emotional, physical,  spiritual, social, environmental)
is the first step towards overcoming personal health challenges.

A message for the Practitioner

What Page Icon #1_For Practitioner.png

Our clients live in a stress-filled reality and typically come to us with what they believe is the cause for health concerns.

In our role of supporting their health journey, our responsibility is to peer behind the veil to uncover the underlying cause or health challenge at play.

We leverage our experience and expertise to provide opportunities to heal and often we encounter obstacles that impact the efficacy of our work.

As practitioners, the depth and progression of our work can only go so far as there is “fertile soil” (within the client) to work with.

“Fertile soil” is cultivated by establishing a foundational level of wellness & wellbeing in the individual, covering all health aspects (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, social, environmental).

In line with the observations previously mentioned, a few examples include:

  • mental health therapists may see the need for clients to access complementary support on nutrition or exercise.

  • physical trainers may see an improvement in exercise fitness with clients who also enroll in emotional counseling.

  • nutritionists may find their services are more comprehensively retained in clients that have detoxified and decluttered their home environments.
